LEARN MORE
A long-time Cambridge resident, David is a passionate community volunteer, husband, father, and small business owner.  He and his wife, Anna, have two grown children who graduated from St. Benedict's High School.

Raised by two teachers in the Catholic school system and driven by a desire to give back to the community, David was elected as a Trustee for Cambridge/North Dumfries in 2022.

Some highlights from David's time at the WCDSB School Board:
  • Supported and voted for balanced annual budgets and oversaw $440 million public education budget during a time of system-wide growth and change.
  • Supported the development of six new school facilities, including the region’s first Joint Catholic-Public elementary school in Cambridge (opening 2026) and a new Grade 7–12 high school in Kitchener.
  • Spearheaded advocacy efforts to defeat a motion that would have banned Pride flags, Indigenous symbols, and other representations of equity and inclusion.
  • Supported and approved the expansion of Project SEARCH, bringing a transformative 10-month employment readiness program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
  • Engaged regularly with community stakeholders through participation in interfaith events, Catholic education advocacy, student celebrations, and public ceremonies such as Remembrance Day.

Why I Became a Trustee

  • I am passionate about the power of education and the impact it has on our future generations. Nothing is more important than setting up today's children for future success.
  • I am an adamant supporter of Quality, Faith-Based Education. I am a graduate of the Catholic school system and it helped shape the person that I am today. I was raised by two teachers in the Catholic system.
  • My wife and I have two grown children who both attended WCDSB schools and both graduated from St. Benedict's High School. I was pleased to be a part of the Parent Council during their time there.
  • I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the community. I have been an active volunteer with a number of organizations and look forward to making more contributions to our fantastic Region.
