CONTRIBUTION INFORMATION

Contributions to municipal campaigns are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (Ontario):
  • Only individuals normally resident in Ontario may contribute.
  • Corporations and trade unions cannot contribute.
  • The maximum contribution to this campaign is $1,200.
  • Contributions greater than $25 cannot be made in cash.
  • Municipal campaign contributions are not tax deductible, and charitable receipts cannot be issued.
  • The names and addresses of individuals whose contributions total more than $100 must be reported in the campaign’s public financial statement.
