why should voters choose you?
I bring a unique combination of business experience, community leadership, public governance experience, and a proven record of service. More importantly, I believe leadership is about listening, bringing people together, and finding practical solutions that improve everyday life for all of us.
WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR CAMBRIDGE CITY COUNCIL?
Ward 7 is growing quickly, and important decisions are being made about transportation, recreation, housing, and community services. I am running because I believe Ward 7 deserves practical, thoughtful leadership that focuses on results, listens to residents, and plans for the future.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?
I have spent my career in business, community leadership, and public service. In 2003, I co-founded and helped grow a successful business that we sold in 2017. I currently serve as Operations Manager at Wesley United Church and have represented Cambridge and North Dumfries as an elected Trustee for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board since 2022. These experiences have taught me how to manage budgets, build consensus, solve problems, and make difficult decisions responsibly.
what are your top priorities?
My priorities are:
- Safe, Strong Neighbourhoods
- Better Connections throughout Cambridge and Waterloo Region
- Smart Growth that keeps pace with development
- Building a Vibrant Community Hub around the new Wesley Boulevard campus
- Making life more affordable for Ward 7 residents. Learn more here.
WAS YOUR TIME AS A TRUSTEE JUST A STEPPING STONE?
Absolutely not. I’ve used every role as a chance to serve. I would like to continue serving, just in a broader way. As a trustee, I’ve seen how decisions at every level of government affect families and individuals. But many challenges like housing and recreation are decided at City Hall. I learned a lot at the school board and now I’m ready to apply those lessons to strengthen Cambridge as a whole.
what is your approach to decision making?
I believe good decisions begin with listening. I will work to understand the facts, hear different perspectives, consider the long-term impacts, and make decisions based on what is in the best interests of Ward 7 and Cambridge as a whole. Not every issue is simple, but residents deserve thoughtful, transparent leadership.
what are your thoughts on transportation?
Residents in Ward 7 need safe roads, reliable public transit, active transportation options, and strong connections to the rest of Cambridge and Waterloo Region. I will advocate for practical and accessible transportation solutions that reflect the needs of all Ward 7 residents.
are you endorsed by any political party?
No. Municipal elections in Ontario are non-partisan. My focus is on representing Ward 7 residents and making decisions based on what is best for our community, not on following any particular political ideology.
