WAYS FOR YOU TO VOTE
Cambridge residents have several convenient and accessible ways to vote in the 2026 Municipal Election. Choose the option that works best for you and make your voice heard.
WHO CAN VOTE?
You can vote in the Cambridge municipal election if, on Election Day, you:
Eligible students may vote in both the municipality where they attend school and the municipality they consider their permanent home.
Beginning September 1, eligible voters can confirm or update their information with the City of Cambridge. You must be on the Voters’ List to vote online.
- Are a Canadian citizen
- Are at least 18 years old
- Live in Cambridge, own or rent property in Cambridge, or are the spouse of someone who owns or rents property in Cambridge
- Are not prohibited from voting under provincial law

Online voting will be available from 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26. You must be on the Voters’ List to vote online. Instructions will be included in the Voter Notification Letter mailed to eligible voters.

4. At-Home Voting Program
Eligible residents who cannot attend a voting location because of severe illness, mobility limitations or other qualifying circumstances may request an at-home voting appointment. The City will provide application details once they are finalized.

5. Proxy Voting
Eligible voters may appoint another eligible elector to vote on their behalf. The City will provide information about eligibility, required forms and deadlines when those details are finalized.

6. Special Voting Locations
Election officials will provide on-site voting for residents of eligible retirement homes and long-term care facilities. Dates and times will be communicated directly to participating locations.

WHAT IDENTIFICATION SHOULD I BRING?
When voting in person, bring one or two pieces of identification that together show your name and qualifying Cambridge address. Photo identification is not required.
Acceptable identification includes:
